Zipline FAQ

The easiest way is online through the booking links on this page.

If you have questions or need assistance, you may email us with your requests at info@amicalolazipline.com or call us at 706-265-1233.  We must have at least two participants booked to go zip lining.

Please remember that email is not secure and we do not recommend you emailing any credit card information to us. We hope to have online reservations soon!!   If you have further questions, feel free to call us!

Our check-in counter is located inside the Amicalola Falls Lodge across from the gift shop. After checking in, your group will head over to the gear-up area to begin your tour. While the address to the lodge is correct on our site, GPS directions sometimes send people to the camp ground (.4 miles up the road). You can follow signs for the Lodge or you can use the search feature in your GPS and enter “Amicalola Falls Lodge and Restaurant” which usually brings you to the right place. Feel free to call if you need assistance!

Our address is:

418 Amicalola Falls Lodge Road, Dawsonville, GA 30534.

Closed-toed shoes are a requirement.

This means sneakers or boots with a full heal/back. No crocs, sandals, or “five finger” shoes allowed. People with improper footwear will not be allowed to go on tour and no refunds will be given.

Dress appropriately for the weather

Comfortable clothes are recommended. We zip line rain or shine so wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little wet or sweaty. You will be wearing a harness that goes around your waist and thighs so we recommend wearing clothes that will cover those areas. Short shorts and tube tops are not recommended. Please wear shorts under dresses or skirts. Wear layers in cold weather.

Secure long hair.

You don’t want hair to get tangled in the equipment. Helmets are required so a low ponytail, bun, or braid is the most comfortable. It is permitted to wear thin bandanas or other head coverings under your helmet or even thin beanies when the weather is chilly.

Glasses and sunglasses can be worn.

If you plan on taking them off during the tour, we recommend a strap. They may break if you put them in your pocket.

Do not wear loose articles of clothing, dangling jewelry, or large hoop earrings.

Bring ID

The payer must bring a photo ID and the credit/debit card used to make the reservation.

Names on both the ID and card must match the name on the reservation.

You may bring a small backpack or fanny pack.

You do not need to carry water as we will have water points along the tour. We can secure your car keys at the front desk. Leave all other items in your car or with a person not participating in the tour.

You may bring a phone, camera, or GoPro.

We STRONGLY suggest you have them secured by a strap or otherwise. We are not responsible for lost or broken items. Our guides take FREE pictures of your tour so you can leave the camera behind!

Bring any necessary medication.

Items such as inhalers, epi-pens, or nitroglycerine pills need to be with you and our guides need to be made aware of conditions requiring these types of medications.

Amicalola Zipline and Aerial Adventure Park is owned and operated by American Adventure Park Systems & Historic Banning Mills.  Banning Mills was the first high speed zip line course in the southeast. We have years of experience in the aerial adventure business. All of our guides are all CPR and First Responder and High Rescue trained. We meet all ACCT and PRCA guidelines. Our course is constantly checked and rechecked as well as inspected by an outside ACCT certified inspector. You will not find a safer or more experienced zip line canopy tour course in the USA!  Aerial adventures are experiential and do require certain safety type gear to be placed on the guest to include: full or half harnesses, lanyards, pulleys, helmets and gloves. Most of the gear does require tightening which secures the gear in place before going out on the aerial adventure. I understand that if I need assistance when tightening gear, there may be unintentional touch to lower and/or upper extremities, waist area and/or head area when performing these safety checks on the gear.

This is not a requirement but our guides work very hard to give you a safe and fun tour. Any tip you would like to give is greatly appreciated! Many of the guides are college students!

We take Visa, Mastercard and Discover cards. Your card will be charged at the time of the reservation for the full amount. If you cancel outside the cancellation policy, your card will be refunded in full minus a $20.00 processing fee. If you cancel within the cancellation policies, your card will keep the 50% charge and a $20.00 processing fee with the remainder refunded back to the card used to reserve the tours. No refunds at all for “day of” cancellations and no shows.  Cash payment option available. If you wish to pay with cash, it must be prepaid in order to make the reservation. We do not take personal checks.

If you have 10 or more guests that want to come as a group, we give 10% off the regular tour rates. Groups must make one payment and not individual payments. Whomever books the group will be responsible for the group payment. You must get your group to reimburse you. Please remember that you will be charged for cancellations within the cancellation period and no shows.

We are an extreme outdoor adventure opportunity. We do understand that sometimes people are not able to overcome their fear of heights and choose not to participate in the tours. Unfortunately, we are not able to rebook the slot. The guest will be charged the price of the first tour only.

Please arrive 30 minutes BEFORE your tour time.  If you are late, you will not be able to go out on your tour and you will be charged in full for each slot scheduled. We can’t delay the tour because you are late. This is not fair for our on time guests. We will not guarantee you a spot on any other tour either. Please plan your travel time wisely and remember any zone and time changes.

Yes, Yes, Yes.  We fill up quickly and if you do not make a reservation  you will not be guaranteed a spot on the tours. It is not pleasant for you or us if you just show up and we can’t get you on a tour!

Cancellation and Transfer Policies

For cancellations/transfers at least 24-hours in advance:

If you cancel at least 24 hours before your scheduled tour, you will receive a refund minus a $20 processing fee.

You can choose to transfer your refund to a gift card with a processing fee of $10. The rest of your refund will be applied to the gift card and is valid for 5 years. It is your responsibility to schedule your future tour online or by calling us.

Under 24 hours all reservations are considered final, and no refund will be given. Much preparation is required, and expenses are incurred to accommodate each scheduled tour and due to limited space others have likely been turned away for your tour time. Please notify us as soon as possible if changes need to be made to your reservation.

Requests for cancellations/transfers must be submitted via email. The easiest way to do so is to reply to your confirmation email. You may also email directly to info@amicalolazipline.com

We will go out in rain. If there are very heavy and prolonged rain storms, severe thunderstorms with lightening, severe cold or icing, Amicalola Zipline will call each scheduled guest to cancel the tours. Please remember, if we do not call you, that means the tour is a go. Even if there is bad weather where you are, that does not necessarily mean there is bad weather at Amicalola Zipline. Sometimes tours may be delayed for a short time for “pop ups”. Please keep this in mind when planning your day.

You must be at least 8 years old for the Level 1 and 2 tours.  You must be 10 years old to continue on to the level 3 tour. The minimum weight 50lbs for level 1, and 80 lbs for the Level 2.  To continue on to the level 3 tour, a guest must weigh at least 90 lbs minimum. We reserve the right to weigh anyone we think may be over the weight limits.

*******The maximum weights we allow are:***********

You should be prepared for some light physical activity such as climbing stairs, crossing bridges, walking short distances over uneven terrain. A certain level of physical mobility is required for this course. Participants will be required to extend their arms and actively use their hands when steering, braking, and in proper zipline position.

Participants are required to have full range of motion, average balance capabilities, use of both of their upper and lower extremities, be able to hear, see and understand verbal commands and hand signals, and must be capable of understanding, retaining and obeying verbal instructions.

This list is not complete and any guest with medical problems should notify the staff and consult their own MD for participation recommendations. If you require fast-acting medication (like epinephrine), bring the medication with you on the tour and make your guide aware of your condition prior to departure.

FUN, FUN, FUN!!! You will be placed into our safety harness & helmet and given a 30 minute instruction session. Then your guides will take you up the tower and start your tour.

Reservations are preferred. Walk-ins will be placed on the next available tour.

Our staff is professionally trained and care about your safety very much. If we do not allow you to participate, please do not take it personal, your safety is our #1 priority.

Banning Mills & Screaming Eagle Aerial Adventures at Amicalola State Park reserve the right to refuse anyone access to the tours if we feel it would be unsafe for them, our other guests or our staff. Some examples of someone we might turn away would be a guest under the influence of drugs or alcohol, someone who is over the weight limits, someone that will not or can’t understand or obey the rules, and those who are  physically unable to do a zip line canopy tour. We do everything in our power to get guests out on a tour and give them safe access to our tours. However, Banning Mills and their staff will have the final say on any participant going out or continuing on a tour.
You will be required to sign a liability release form before going out on the tour. If you would like for us to email a copy to you, just call or email us your request. Minors must have a parent our guardian to sign this form. The minor must sign the waiver also. Again, we can email this form to you so that you can bring a signed copy with you. Just ask us!
